Who: Populis was born from the desire to make light-hearted, naturally made, extremely drinkable wines from organically farmed, historic vineyard sites throughout Northern California.
What/How: A perennial favorite, this direct press Sauvignon Blanc comes from Larry Venturi's vineyard located up near Ukiah in Mendocino County. These dry-farmed, old-vines were planted by his grandfather between 1944-1948, making it some of the oldest SB left planted in California.
Tasting Notes: The mouthfeel is characterized by laser-like acidity, while the aromas and flavors strike a balance between greenness and riper opulence, resulting in a style that is uniquely Californian.
