Origin: Forchini Vineyard, Russian River Valley, Sonoma, California
Farming Practices: Organic
Why we love it:
Who: The Bass family found their run-down, century-old, vineyard overlooking Guernville, CA in 1980 and began the arduous process of reviving the vines. Growing grapes and making wine is poco a poco, little by little. We live in a time when most things can be made, ordered, and consumed in a matter of days. The beauty of winegrowing is that we must live poco a poco.
What/How: The grapes are sourced from the Forchini Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. These are vines 10 to 30 years old farmed organically.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of cherry preserves, rose petal and moist earth. The palate has a nice depth of fruit with delicate tannins that make it a nice medium bodied food friendly wine Pairs With: Slow roasted pork with cherries, duck, milk sausages, oily fish
