Who: Post & Vine is the dream of Rebekah Wineburg and Erica Kincaid who met years ago while working at a Napa Valley winery. They desired to produce wines that reflect a sense of place with a focus on small historical vineyards that have been managed sustainably by committed stewards. Both with day jobs making high end Napa Cabernets, Post & Vine was created to make wines meant to be shared with friends and opened for any occasion.
What/How: The grapes are from gnarly, century-old vines in the Sandy Lane Vineyard which overlooks the San Joaquin River and has been in the same family since 1904. The vineyard is named for the sandy loam soils that offer near perfect drainage and produce small, concentrated Carignane clusters of exceptional flavor and bright natural acidity. Only 73 cases were produced.
Tasting Notes: Opening with notes of fresh strawberries, rose water, and watermelon rind and finishing with flavors of melon, white peach, and a distinct saline element, this beautiful crisp rosé wine is perfect for summer days and warm-climate cuisine.
Pairs With: Salad Nicoise, fried olives and grilled sausages.
